Social media is forever changing the way brands and products are marketed. We define social media as any text, photo, video or music shared with others online. Attentio monitors all such non-private interactions through indexing blogs, forums, picture and video sharing sites and social networking sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
The Attentio Brand Dashboard™ gives you the power to see what people across the world is saying about your brands and products accompanied with advanced analysis and visualizations to summarize millions of conversations in an easy-to-read format. Please sign up for a demo or contact our sales team directly at +32 2 219 86 66.
Through our website, you can also find answers to useful questions such as 'what is social media' and find out 'why we monitor it'. Above all, we would love to have you as a customer, so tell us how can we help you with.
What is social media?
In its simplest form...
Social Media is online interaction. Any conversation had, blog posted, photo viewed, video watched or music listened to on the Internet falls under the category of Social Media. It is blogs, forums, picture sharing (Flickr), video viewing (YouTube, Daily Motion) and social networking (Facebook, LinkedIn).
It’s global…
If ever there was a medium for cross border and cross culture discussion, it is social media. People are having discussions from Milan to Maui, Tokyo to Toronto and in Spanish to Senegalese.
It’s different…
Conventional media has long since been the preferred medium for getting a message out but is ineffective when measuring the messages coming in. It only allows for one way communication rather than a two (or more) way discussion. Social media enables and encourages many people to be part of a discussion.
It’s fast…
Print newspapers, flyers, billboards… all take time to get their message out. By definition, a newspaper needs to gather information, digest it, write it, print it, package it, send it and sell it. This can be done in as short a time as a few hours, however, social media is much faster. Writing and posting a blog takes only minutes and voicing an opinion takes only a second. Social media truly is real-time.
It’s direct…
So much information about a person can be gathered from their online habits. Conventional media such as billboards plays a ‘numbers game’ to attract new business whereas online marketing is more targeted to specific and relevant individuals making it more efficient and cost effective.
It’s BIG business…
The business world is fast realising that people are talking about them and their brands and rather than just using it as another way to get a message out, they are starting to be a part of these conversations and listening to what is coming in.
It's recordable…
Pretty much every word, video, or picture on the Internet is there to get maximum exposure. It calls out to be noticed, looked at, monitored and recorded. It allows for companies to get an idea of how their brands are viewed online, if their online marketing strategy is working and where there may be a gap in the market.
